“The first time I babysat my numerous younger siblings, one of my sisters called the police without telling me, and said there was a “scary man” in her room. There’s no way this could’ve been the case because her room was upstairs and the rest of us were sitting in the room that the stairs were in, so we would’ve seen him come or go. So it was a total shock when the cops and ambulance and fire truck all showed up and surrounded the house. She happily greeted them and led them to her room and showed them where “the man” had been (her closet). But there was no man there. She said he had to go home so that’s why he wasn’t there anymore. She gave a super shitty description which was just that he was big and tall. I was so confused and scared. My parents were called and came home and we never left the house during all this but it was a terrifying first babysitting experience.”
“I must say that it was tiring work looking after three year old twins for about ten to twelve hours a day. However, I absolutely loved it! The parent gave me a schedule to follow and I stuck to it! After they woke up around 8:30 or 9am, we would eat breakfast, play with toys, play outside and get in their little pool, eat lunch, read books, play with more toys, have nap time, do an activity that I brought, eat dinner, and play until their parents got home. Yes, their days were filled with fun and excitement! It is amazing how strong of a connection I felt with these kids after only six days of being with them. This past week, they were calling me by name and hugging me good-bye.”
