As dusk fell, an enchanting atmosphere took over the city as the brotherhoods continued to solemnly march their way to the Cathedral, hour after hour. We were staying in a hotel in the centre of town so we were able to watch the parade for a couple of hours, then take a break from the crowds back in our room, and then head out again. The barricades and the large crowds made it difficult at times, but it was completely worth it.

Nothing quite prepared us for the first procession we saw. A giant float covered in fresh roses carried by some very strong men to the sound of a live band made the hair on the back of my neck stand to attention.

As the evening turns into night the processions become more and more magical and mysterious. I don't think i'll ever forget the memories of late night procession spotting in Seville. Its almost other worldly and I doubt there is an experience that comes close.
