People who tried this

I have mostly worked in their preassembly shops, which is generally building wall panels. I felt they had an excellent attitude. Basically everyone I spoke to just assumed I was there to benefit myself, and always asked what I wanted to get out of my time there. It was really nice. The atmosphere was SUPER laid back though. My local affiliate is very small, building three to four homes per year. I’m retired so I can work weekdays when groups usually don’t work. I can work as often as I want, which for me is 1-2 days a week. What I do varies. Some days we are carrying lumber or cleaning, others it is framing, drywall, flooring, installing cabinets, painting, painting, painting, building porches, building stairs. Right now we are building a house with “insulated concrete forms” (an industry organization donated them and training). It has been interesting assembling the lego like forms.
