Create a miniature ecosystem in a glass container using succulents, air plants, or tropical varieties depending on whether you want open or closed systems. The key is proper drainage and choosing plants with similar water needs. You'll learn about plant care on a small scale, and the finished terrarium becomes a living piece of art that evolves over time.

β€œSome time has passed and it is now looking gorgeous! I kept it at my desk for the first month or so, but since have moved to my book shelf where it gets a bit more direct light in the mornings. Most of the moss is as green as day one, and the weeds have taken hold of the bowl. To be honest, I was not expecting so many weeds, and I had to remove some of the bigger ones because they were growing past the bowl lid. Some days I give it a little spray of water, mostly on the top part as it tends to get drier. Looking back, I should have put less dirt and build it a little lower in the bowl so it’s not so close to the light. Next time!”

β€œI've been binge-watching terrarium build videos on YouTube and got totally obsessed, so I finally made my very first closed terrarium yesterday! [...] Planted it yesterday, and this morning I woke up to some small condensation on the glass – exciting but also wondering if it's normal/right amount! It's in indirect light. Any beginner tips welcome: Is the condensation a good sign this early? How much is too much? When to vent/open it?”
