โ€œThe first month was the hardest to adjust to. I was super unfit to start out with so biking took way longer than Google Maps said, and I felt tired all the time due to my lack of fitness. I was frustrated with biking. Everything took SO much longer. Grocery shopping on a bike became unmanageable because I had too many bags and they all wouldnโ€™t fit in my tiny little basket (go figure), so I had to carry them on both arms and in a backpack, so my already unfit body was straining under the extra weight. Whenever I wanted to get somewhere I had to plan my trip a week prior, searching bus and train routes, mapping out any changes, or considering if the trip was really worth it.โ€

โ€œThis morning I headed to my weightlifting class at the gym, a little over a mile away. I rode my used, pedal-assist electric tricycle. I bought it close to a year ago but have not really learned to ride it. [...] I quickly found that the sidewalk felt much safer on both streets instead of using the bike lane or sharing the road with cars. [...] The sidewalk is dotted with tree wells and sign posts, but there was sufficient width for my trike. In some places the tree roots have caused the sidewalk to be uneven, but my trike made it over the gaps. Hooray!โ€

โ€œActually very good. Either 15 minutes by car or 20 minutes walk/subway. It's about 8km. However, every morning, I need to put my kid to kindergarten, which is about 3km in oposite direction. With car, it's so much more comfortable, especially in winter, but I really enjoyed walking with my son this morning. It was fun. Also, it's probably good for health. I need to move more.โ€
