Balance colorful objects like paper cutouts, dried flowers, or small toys on strings at different lengths to create kinetic sculpture. The key is finding the right balance point so everything moves gracefully together when air currents catch it.

โOne of the projects I took on โ and more importantly, finished โ is a baby mobile! I honestly did not know how this was going to go. [...] I started by crocheting all the balls first. I made about 4 balls of each color. This will also be dependent on how many balls you want hanging down the string or on how many balls you want around the hoop. The trick is to have fun with the size of the balls. Some of mines were larger and others were smaller. Stuff each ball as you go. Once you have all the balls crocheted, string a piece of yarn through each ball vertically. I had 4 strings of balls, each with 3 balls hanging on it. [...] This was a simpler project than what I thought it would be. It was also therapeutic crocheting a whole bunch of balls and stuffing them.โ
โI made a mobile. This is the first mobile I have ever made that I can remember. [...] I used a combination of new and used materials. Everything hangs from a flea market yardstick, cut in three pieces. I drilled tiny holes to install screw eyes for stringing up the objects. The objects include: buttons from my mom's stash, twigs (some painted), tin can lids, plastic milk caps, rocks, washers, shapes molded from Sculpey, cardboard roll flowers, drinking straws, cardboard food packaging, and other random plastic packaging. The challenging part now will be finding a place to hang it!โ
