Choose a challenging jigsaw puzzle with a beautiful image and work on it together over snacks and conversation. There's something meditative about sorting pieces and gradually watching the picture emerge, and it's a perfect excuse to catch up without distractions.

β€œMy husband and I are the same. He looks at a single piece and determines where it goes. He uses the box a lot. I look at colors and then shapes, and put them together. (So I do look at the picture, to make sure it goes together, but not 'where' it goes) I do look at the box, but not nearly as much, because I am not finding the place, I'm finding the match. We typically puzzle well together, but it drives me crazy when he places a single piece down in it's approximate location. My feeling is nothing goes in the puzzle space until it is connected to something else. You need at least 2 pieces before it goes in a location, and I often keep my pairs to the side until they are at least 3 pieces.”

β€œMy husband and I puzzle together. We sort the pieces, then one of us starts on the edge while the other picks the low hanging fruit from the center. Once that’s done each person takes a colour/pattern and works on it independently. As an introvert I find it’s a great way to spend time together because you don’t have to be β€œon” in the same way that you would for a conversation or other activity. We can just puzzle quietly.”
