Challenge your culinary boundaries by trying crickets, mealworms, or other edible insects that are normal protein sources in many cultures. They're often surprisingly crunchy and nutty when properly prepared. Start with seasoned varieties from specialty shops or restaurants rather than diving straight into the raw experience.

βQuite honestly, there isnβt any real βinsect tasteβ at play here β the insects are deep fried and well seasoned, and the bamboo worm (not the silkworm as I mistakenly thought it was in the video) barely is made up of much βmeatβ, so the experience was very much like chewing on a tasty bit of fried batter more than anything else. Crickets are a little different from the worms β crispier, and I just could not look at the legs when I ate them because they reminded me too much of cockroach legs (and Iβm not ready for all that jazz yet).β
βI almost told my mom I didn't want to do it, but I said to my self: Man up, Man up, be strong that you can do it. So my first snack was the Grilled Tarantula. Inside slimy and crunchy outside. The hairy back legs werenβt too bad at all. I only tried a couple of legs and it was pretty good. It tasted as a fried potatoish flavour [...] After that, I tried the cockroach [...] I took it between my teeth and ate it full body, head and everything! It was glory. It tasted so freaking good. It was extremely unexpected, but it was very delicious. For the last snack, I ate a scorpion. I tried the tongs and it was very hard and rocky. There wasn't much taste, so I spit it out and enjoyed the cockroach flavour in my mouth.β
