βThen my hand hit a wall. Huh. Ok. I reached up and my left hand hit another wall. Ok. I turned round and finned for maybe 10 seconds and I hit another wall. Ok. This is weird. I then descended a small way and found the floor of the room I was in. And the silt. Ok - so how in hell had I got in here. I waited a few minutes and turned my torch down a touch to see if I could make out a green glow anywhere, but nothing. I could feel the panic rising - am I going to die here? So I went to one of the walls and felt my way around the wall and couldnβt find a way out - no doors in from the side - strange - but now more panic - so I decided to try the ceiling and I found a small doorway (this wreck was on itβs side so this was the way into this room) and it seemed like when Iβd stopped to check my gauge in the silt Iβd inadvertently dropped down through the doorway into the room. I popped out of the doorway , still silty but ascended a bit more and realised I was inside the main deck and could see green light & easy ways out.β
βWhen I set out on an adventure, Iβm in a βGreat Lakes State of Mindβ; itβs not just what you see, itβs a feeling you get while out on the Great Lakes exploring. When Iβm diving, I disconnect from everything on the surface, just floating underwater and getting a moment of silence and peace. Diving and exploring, for me, are almost therapeutic β the adventure and thrill of it strip away the stress of daily life.β
