β€œI fell into it on accident. I worked in retail management for ten years. Then the pandemic broke me, and I quit and went to college. I got a part time job as a student worker in the Financial Aid office to supplement my income, and loved it. I got really lucky with my mentors in the office, and they put the time into training me and took me seriously. Within 6 months they had made me a full time administrator, and I have since moved on to a bigger university and better paying position. This is my career now, and I love it. So, I guess besides luck, I would say I got the job by pursuing it once I knew I liked it. If I had stayed focused on just my degree, who knows where I would be. Let me tell you, learning a completely new field, attending seminars and events, working 40 hours a week, and taking college courses for a degree over the age of thirty is not easy. But it has been the first thing in my life that has been worth it beyond getting paid.”

β€œYes, I found it after 20+ years of corporate jobs in tech which were paying okay but were sucking the energy out of me as most of these years I did not enjoy what I was doing. Nothing wrong with these jobs/companies. They just weren’t matching me. The key was the day I connected to who I really am, to my values and what truly matters to me: assisting people. I then started to do this through getting my coaching certification and here I am. No Sunday evening blues anymore. Energy and passion every morning. Deep feeling of being fulfilled every evening.”
