Set up rain barrels, create a living roof, or build a simple catchment system to harvest free water from the sky. Beyond saving money on bills, you'll have chlorine-free water perfect for plants and emergency use. Check local regulations first as some areas restrict collection.

โI collect rainwater. that is the only water I have, I have 2 very large concrete tanks, a total of 35,000 gallons of water holding capacity. it is enough water for my family of 7. we don't use any of it for watering the garden unless it has been first used by us. ( laundry etc.) most rural houses in Australia have tank water. The great thing about tank water is there is no bills to pay, the downside is you are dependant on the rain. If there is a drought, you use way less. and if there is a bushfire, the smoke contaminates it. BBQ flavoured water isn't that pleasant to drink!โ
