People who tried this
βI knew camping in winter conditions would be fun but I underestimated the beauty of watching the sun set behind snow covered pines, the nearly full moon, a light pollution-free star-filled sky, icicles on the branches. Seeing a familiar environment in totally different conditions was eye opening and fun.β
βOk, fine. I did it. I slept outside in the snow. I curled up in a negative degree sleeping bag and kept myself pretty comfortable all night. It wasn't as bad as I expected.β
βMy husband is β¦ warm, supportive, funny, intelligent, adventurous and flatulent. I had failed to anticipate the impact of these attributes for this trip. I spent my Valentineβs Day listening to him giggle before being temporarily smothered in a cloud of four-season-tent-constrained stench. It was not romantic.β
