Pick a theme like "80s sci-fi," "movies with the same actor," or "films you've never seen but should have" and settle in for 6-8 hours of cinematic bliss. Prep comfort food, silence phones, and create intermissions for discussion—the shared experience makes even mediocre movies memorable.

People who tried this

Yesterday, I put myself to the ultimate test: the Marvel Movie Marathon. Sitting in a 250-seat theater in Los Angeles, I endured 17 hours of movie madness. I knew this was going to be a phenomenal undertaking that would push me to my movie-watching limits, which was one of the main reasons I did it. Well, that and I got to watch The Avengers again.

Honestly, it was a pretty epic movie but HOLY COW IT’S SUCH A LONG MOVIE! We were wiped by the end of it. It didn’t help that there are about five or six instances where the movie could’ve reasonably ended, but didn’t.
