βMy dad was a car guy so he made my sister and I learn how to change a tire, jump start the car, and check fluids and know where/how to refill before heβd let us get a license. The tire changing lesson was at night, in the rain, on a steep incline. He wouldnβt even hold a flashlight for me, lol. βBecause youβll never get a flat tire on a flat surface on a nice sunny day.β I have, in fact, gotten a flat on a nice sunny day but was also by myself so I changed the tire. I also carry an air compressor and battery jump starter thingy in the car at all times.β
βThen there's my car, it has had a flat tyre for a few days now, and I decided to change it and get it done with since I don't want to get delayed if I have to go out for whatever reason. Now I've never changed my tyres before, I've only ever watched the whole process but paid attention to it. I started going through it step by step, slow and steady, et voilΓ , tyre changed. I needed some sort of a win and I guess that made a small difference. Feels great man.β
βA family friend was showing his daughter how to change a tire when she was 13 and I was 12 and that was my first experience. When I was 20, I was driving my girlfriend's car when I realized it had a flat and I had to change the tire on the side of the road in a snowbank during a Minnesota winter. I was glad to have the little knowledge I had because there was no internet or smartphones back then.β
