β€œI'm coming at this from a slightly different reason for building lego, but i agree that i do sort of feel "silly" being a 56 year old man building lego. I lost my brother over a year ago and I was in a VERY BAD place mentally. A friend gave me a lego set out of the blue. I held on to it for a month or two thinking how silly it would be to build lego again. And yes.......me an my brother used to build lego together as children. Well, i built it and almost immediately when i started, my mind calmed down and even my overall attituded settled down over the losing of my brother. I've been to several therapist. NONE of them helped me reach a level of "acceptance, calmness" that lego has done for me. I still dont admit to anyone i know i build lego because i dont think they would understand. But i have fallen down the lego hole and now own over 100 sets.”

β€œThis was the first time that I was able to build a Lego set on my own,” Shifrin said at his home, surrounded by sets he has built including a Statue of Liberty figurine and NASA’s Apollo Saturn V rocket. β€œIt was truly an amazing experience because I was completely in control of the whole building process. I knew where the pieces went and I was able to learn about the world around me.”
