Squeeze fresh lemons, add water and sugar to taste, then adjust until you get that perfect balance of tart and sweet. Fresh lemonade tastes completely different from the powdered stuff and is incredibly refreshing on hot days.

โI've made it twice now. I love it. It's a bit sweet at 1 and 1/2 cups for me, but I think most people would like it there. I dropped to just 1 cup of sugar. I can drink as it and it's the best lemonade ever. I can also put half lemonade and half club soda and it's still very delicious. I am drinking it like that to stretch it, but it still tastes so good that I am not sacrificing anything. Adding the zest is what makes its great and not adding it is was has held me back from making good lemonade my whole life.โ
โI've made it twice, it was waaaaaay too sweet for me as described. I agree that the zest elevates it though. I ended up reducing the sugar to 1c and I think it could possibly go lower if you don't up the lemon. I used 8 lemons the second time and that ended up being a good amount of lemon but too much zest. If I were to make it a third time I would reduce the lemon zest usage to 4-5 of the 8 lemons.โ
โOverall it was probably the best lemonade I've ever had. The lemon zest really elevated it to something special. Next time I'll probably increase sugar to 2 cups instead so it's a bit sweeter. Enjoy!โ
