Electric bikes make cycling accessible to everyone by providing pedal assistance when you need it most, like climbing hills or fighting headwinds. You'll cover more distance with less effort and arrive at your destination without being sweaty. Many bike shops offer rentals, so you can test the experience before considering a purchase.

โYep - I rode an e-bike for the first time when I visited Banff in Canada. It was a Trek. Spent all day on it, touring the national park & parkways. I totally get the ebike thing now - finished the day feeling like Iโd done a decent ride in the legs, but also it took all the sting out of the hills and kept me fresh enough to enjoy the sights & scenery.โ
โI took my new e-bike out for the first time today! It was interesting. It's upright, more like a cruiser, and so it felt more responsive to my arm movements then my mtb. It really felt good to sit upright- my butt wasn't sore at all- but my quads certainly were! I only turned on pedal assist 1 and only once. I went to a straight stretch and turned it on- what a kick! I kept the odometer on after I turned off pedal assist, and was embarrassed to see that my speed was about 5 mph. I was hoping I at least hit 7. Even with the heavier bike, I think that is about what I was getting before. I can see where it's going to be a big help once I get used to it, but there is definitely a learning curve. Still, I'm glad I did it, even if I could only ride about 10-15 minutes today before my legs gave out.โ
