Track down the bizarre big-nosed monkeys of Borneo through mangrove swamps and rainforest canopies, watching males show off their comically oversized schnozzes to attract mates. These endangered primates are found only in Borneo's coastal areas and are best spotted during river cruises at dawn or dusk when they come to feed. Their honking calls and acrobatic leaps between trees make them unforgettable wildlife encounters.

People who tried this

We’d been told that sometimes the Proboscis monkeys come down to the trees along the shoreline. Proboscis monkeys are endemic to Borneo and not found anywhere else in the world. We slowly approached the trees while looking up into the branches. I moved deeper into the forest and spotted one monkey, then realized I was standing right below several of them.

And then the trees above our heads started to shake, and Prescott sighted our first proboscis monkey! We saw at least one female and three male monkeys way up in the trees, too far away to photograph, but close enough to know who was swinging and who was eating and who was grooming. We watched them for quite a while.
