See a geyser erupt
๐ Repeatable๐ค All ages
naturetravelscience
Stand near one of Earth's natural fountains as superheated water shoots dramatically skyward, often reaching heights of 100+ feet. Famous geysers like Old Faithful in Yellowstone or Geysir in Iceland erupt on predictable schedules, while others surprise visitors with their timing and power.

โAgreed! We went a few times and experienced it with both the height of midday crowds and almost no one else past dark. The excitement and energy in the air when waiting to experience it with other people was so fun. The cheers when it starts, the applause as it ends. Hundreds of people applauding nature, all different ages and nationalities. It was neat and even a bit emotional.โ
โWhen I saw this geyser for the first time, I was stunned. This gigantic water spout made me feel so small and insignificant. I wanted to shower myself under all the warm water bucketing down from one eruption. Too bad there was a gate holding me back. Oherwise I would have jumped under it to touch the warm water. Luckily, I was able to take in the sights and sounds of this breath-taking giant geyser more than once. Reliability in its eruption is why they call it Old Faithful, and true to its name, it did erupt on time as the sign indicated. I was so excited that I knew what time I could return to this geyser to see it burst forth once again.โ
