Swim in crystal-clear turquoise waters that rival the Caribbean, accessible only by boat or a challenging cliff hike on tiny Comino island. The shallow lagoon stays warm and calm most of the year, perfect for snorkeling among colorful fish, while dramatic limestone cliffs provide shelter from Mediterranean winds.

βIt only takes about 15-20 minutes, and it was exciting as we got our first views of the lagoon heading into the bay. Thereβs a small jetty to disembark and a few food and drink stalks dotted around here. Thereβs actually not much beach and the little there was already filled with people. This is May, so I canβt imagine what it would be like in the height of Summer. We walked along the cliffs, this is where most people set up for the day so we found a spot and immediately went for the water. Itβs so blue, so clear, we couldnβt believe how beautiful it was.β
βWe arrived at 9am and were one of the first people to jump in the bright blue lagoon here! My favourite photo spot was the blue lagoon itself for sure! This photo really shows just how amazing the colour of the water is, and how clear it is! The blue lagoon is fairly shallow water; you can walk out quite far and still not be fully submerged. I was lucky with my photo that is featured as the blog cover, as on this day there were a few jellyfish in the water, so I didnβt have to swim out far to get this shot, with no one around me.β
βFrom island Gozo, I took a ferry to Blue lagoon. Only 10 minutes on a boat and we would arrive at the small dock of island Comino. At 9.10 AM it was still very quiet. Only a hand full of people were taking a swim or just enjoyed the views as much as I did. I took this early boat on purpose because the Blue Lagoon can be super crowded. I really wanted to enjoy the natural beauty with not too many people and the only way to avoid the crowds is to get there early.β
