“Just before entering the tunnel we donned our waterproof coats (it can be very drippy). The crew turned the headlights and front porch light on, turned all the lights on inside the boat, and closed all the doors and windows. It was very dark and cold. Quite an experience! Once safely through we moored up for the night in a quiet stretch of water in a little wood, feeling that we had earned a rest.”
