Master the algorithms and finger techniques needed for speedcubing, progressing from beginner methods to advanced CFOP or Roux techniques. Most people can learn to solve it in under 2 minutes with 3-6 months of regular practice. The muscle memory and pattern recognition you develop creates an almost meditative flow state during fast solves.

I started a couple weeks ago. I'm still using the beginner's method on the crappy standard cube I got at walmart. I thought it would just be a grueling series of algorithms to finally accomplish the cube, until I realized it's actually just all about... speed. I'm practicing form, trying to use algorithms from different holding positions, and trying to get more comfortable with the mirror version of the basic algorithms and identifying some patterns in first 2 layers to solve them more efficiently, and I'm down to under 2 minutes pretty consistently. It's kind of addicting and I don't think I'll ever bother beyond a 3x3, but... There's a LOT to learn ahead of us just for the 3x3. Gotta get that sub minute...
