People who tried this
βI recently got the chance to visit designer stores in Rome (I never had the nerve to enter a store before, as everything was outside my budget). But this time I wanted to treat myself and invest in a designer bag. I checked: Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Dior. My dream bag was from Dior (lady Dior). I cannot express the disappointment I felt when I finally got the chance to touch a Dior bag. I tried all their bags and all I could think of was the cheap feel I got from a bag that's not cheap at all. The same thing happened with the other stores. There was not a single bag that had the quality I was looking for. Instead of a bag I bought some Prada loafers that actually feel and look high quality.β
βI have been saving up for months to finally splurge on my first designer bag. Taking on extra shifts at work through my exam period and endlessly scrolling through this forum, the anticipation and excitement has been driving me mad. I was ecstatic when I first started to make my way around designer boutiques. Gucci, LV, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Dior, YSL, anything iconic you can think of I've been in (apart from HermΓ©s, I'm a somewhat poor student after all haha). I'm from Scotland, and whilst I know people who have designer bags, there's not a massive community of people who collect bags here. I decided that once I went to Florida on a trip with my family I'd pick 4 bags I really liked and go to the boutiques there to see the bags in person. I went to the mall at Millenia and I have never been treated so warmly by sales assistants in my life, especially in Louis Vuitton. Each store was helpful, showing me styles similar to the ones I'd looked out originally and I walked away with sales associates cards from every store. I felt amazing and the experience was exactly as I expected it to be. I decided not to purchase in the states as it is much cheaper back home, but I expected my experience to be similar to what I'd had in Florida and so I came home with such hope for what was to come. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.β
