โI eventually slither my body into the ocean as the apex predators swim beneath me. [...] Aside from my hair, I am watching all these sharks swim beneath me and around me. The sharks really look like robots as they seamlessly move through the water. Nurse sharks, lemons, and reef sharks glide past us and once youโve made eye contact with them, they are no longer interested and swim away. [...] They told us again and again that if you make eye contact with the shark, it will swim away. This was not the case here. I stared VERY hard at this lady and she eventually budged at the last second.โ
โI've been wanting to go on a shark dive/swim with sharks (safely) for about a decade now. [...] This aquarium does the dives via a cage and full face mask so you can breathe normally and talk to both the instructor and the people up top. (you also become part of the show as anyone in the tunnel surrounding the tank can watch and hear you.) I was frightened, and part of me was worried I'd run out of air, even though I knew that wasn't possible, but after a few minutes getting acclimated to being under water, it was a totally Zen-like experience. Watching the sharks and fish swim around was just the neatest thing ever. I probably won't do it again, as being under water is just flat out not comfortable for me, but I am so glad I did it.โ
