Break out of autopilot mode by deliberately choosing a different path to familiar destinations. You'll notice new shops, architecture, or natural features in your own neighborhood that you've walked or driven past countless times without seeing.

βAnd of course you can change your route like others have suggested. I generally go off route about two times per week on the way home. One is a longer ride and the other is a much longer ride. You don't have to change much, though. Sometimes if I'm ready early I'll leave 10 minutes early and take a slight detour that's more scenic. I have a big mansion that is open to the public with a very nice tree lined driveway. It adds about a mile to my commute but makes it feel totally different and fresh.β
βItβs okay to take a break if you need to change things up! Sometimes I take a bus just for the heck of it, sometimes I get a ride with someone else. Sometimes I alter my route for a change of scenery, even if it takes a bit longer. I like to find little βnooksβ where I can stop to eat a snack, read a chapter of a book, and enjoy my surroundingsβbut you need to leave a little earlier to take advantage of these.β
