On Sunday afternoon, I tried a new food-- veal calf’s liver, which I have never eaten before. [...] When I tasted it, the texture of the liver is finer than beef. It was creamy in the middle. The outside layer is creamy but a little bit harder than the middle layer. For the centre part, the first word I would use to describe it is soft, but not as soft as raw meat, it’s tender. It’s a feeling of a little creamy in the soft. With the tip area of my tongue, I could feel it was seasoned with salt and sugar. There’s also some flavour of black pepper, and may be some other spices. The liver’s creamy and smooth in the middle layer was similar to goose’s liver, but it is less fine than goose’s liver. The flavour is thick; I mean it is rich in protein--cholesterol. So, at this moment, match with red wine was a good idea. The sourness from the red wine, the two side parts of my tongue caught the sourness, decreased the greasy from liver.

For my second assignment we were asked to eat an item or a dish that we have never eaten before so what popped into my mind was ethiopian food. Although i was sick i grabbed a couple of my friends to come with me in this journey so that they could taste the dish as i can wonder what it will actually taste like. [...] When we got our dish i could imagine what each one would taste, as i was focused on how it would feel and how it would taste if i wasn't sick. It was an amazing experience because i was able to bond with friends while enjoying our food because we were eating with our hands. Even all of us were used to eating with our hands the texture of our dish gave us an interesting experience. The spongy cake called injera was a light and soft bread but it was strong enough to hold our toppings together. I imagined the flavour would be a sweet kind of bread, but as i asked my friends it has more of a lemon taste so it took a huge turn for me when it had a slight sour flavour.
