Be on the cover of a magazine

“I don't know if you have ever found yourself splashed across the front page of something, but you aren't ever quite prepared for the flood of emotions that you experience. [...] As I stared at my phone and myself on the cover, so many physical sensations washed over my body...... [...] my heartbeat picking up, my lips breaking into a smile, my fingers and toes tingling and feeling the rush of blood to my chest and throat. I kept hearing a whooshing sound in my ears, as though I was listening to waves. [...] As I continued to tune in, I found myself smiling so wide that my cheeks started to hurt.”

“Photographer Kate DeCoste was amazing! She helped ease my nerves and showed me how to pose. We took photos with my hands up, and my arms down. With glasses, and without. She shot me in the living room, outside on the deck and in the kitchen. We even took about 400 photos of me with my homemade minestrone soup! [...] Soon after that, they let me know that my photo would be on the cover.”

“Next, I got with my guy, Scott Day, and we did a photo shoot. Its not often that people my size are asked to pose for pictures, but here we are. I have an easier time standing in front of a thousand or so people playing music more so than standing in front of a camera. Scott crushed it and made me feel comfortable, and did an even better job when he made me not look super fat.”
