Denmark Kronburg Castle

“With this brief history in mind, we reached the doors of the castle that stood tall and mighty at the coast of the Baltic Sea. We were there quite early and the castle was yet to open to the public. While the inside of the castle was not expected to open up till later, no one stopped us from roaming the castle grounds by ourselves. It was like a dream come true, just the two of us with the whole majestic castle grounds all to ourselves. [...] It was just us; standing at what felt like the tip of the earth, amidst the persistent winds blowing in our direction and the sound of the waves crashing against the footholds of the castles echoing in your ears back and forth, back and forth. It was moment captured in my heart forever!”

“So, in terms of what there is to see and do at Kronborg, we walked around the crownwork, toured the castle interior on our own, stepped inside the chapel, descended into the casemates, and climbed the tower. When you list it like that, it sounds like a typical castle visit, and we've done plenty of those before. But we're getting ahead of ourselves here, because at the time, we actually knew very little about what the whole Kronborg experience would be like.”
