Try Scotland's national dish - a savory pudding made from sheep's organ meat mixed with oats and spices, traditionally served with neeps and tatties. Despite its intimidating reputation, quality haggis has a rich, peppery flavor similar to coarse pâté. Visit a traditional Scottish pub or restaurant, and pair it with a dram of whisky for the full cultural experience.

My first meal in Scotland was Haggis. It was also my first time to try it. We asked folks on the street who has the best haggis and everyone said Deacon Brodie’s Tavern. We found it and I was glad we did. The hotel also had haggis in the breakfast buffet and it definitely was not as good as Deacon Brodie’s. Definitely want to go back to explore more. My only complaint was that it was August and I had to buy a light jacket because it was cold and wet. Be prepared.
