Go on a 6 month cruise

“I for one was very curious to meet and get to know the kind of people that would undertake a 6 month around the world adventure. Basically when we started out in Los Angeles approximately 430 of the 860 passengers were ‘ Worldies ‘ as we called ourselves. We were told that the average age was 72. [...] It didn’t take long for us to meet most of the other Worldies because the captain hosted a number of cocktail parties for the world travelers where we got acquainted with each other.”

“Lastly we got a notice saying that in the unlikely event of a pirate attack, we would have to go into our respective hallways and lay down to reduce the chances of being shot. Obviously nothing happened but it did add a little bit of spice to the cruise, and provided us with lots to talk about.”

“Of course I would do it all again. My wife on the other hand got homesick after about 3 months and was ready to go home. Of course she loved the full voyage with its many adventures but it was a little too long for her.”
