โ€œToday I am back from having completed a seven day cruise in the Caribbean aboard the Norwegian Dawn. I know some people have said that your first cruise should be a short one, but I am very much glad I went for seven days as it gave me a good taste of the experience of being on a cruise, the process of ports of call, shore excursions, and I was able to enjoy two days entirely at sea which allowed me to better appreciate the amenities of the ship itself: dining, entertainment and activities. [...] By the seventh day I had become quite accustomed to navigating the ship itself and I had grown used to the subtle rocking of the ship as it sailed across the sea. I was expecting to get seasick but on the contrary I found the movement to be soothing, especially at night where the movement of the ship made me feel like I was being rocked to sleep in my stateroom.โ€

โ€œFirst off the food was way better than I expected. I heard that it was good but I was like well it's cruise food how good could it be? I don't feel like I had a bad experience at all the buffet was very good and I was genuinely shocked at how great of quality of food at main dining. Every meal I ate at main dining I was impressed with. [...] The entertainment exceeded my expectations. I went to almost every main show I believe and I enjoyed all of them. Going into the cruise I had mixed expectations because on one hand yes theae are professionals but on the other hand it's an older ship and thought maybe they wouldn't be that entertaining but I was wrong. Every show I went to I was impressed with the talent and skill of each show especially the ice skaters.โ€

โ€œOn our first cruises we would head to an observation bar (inside or out) to sail away, looking at the view. On this cruise we didnโ€™t really have that option, so we developed a little routine. We would pour ourselves a drink, and sit on the balcony as we sailed away, watching the tugs at work as we manoeuvred out of the ports, and staying sometimes until the cities, ports, and even offshore islands and fishing boats disappeared, leaving just the horizon. Or until the sun set.โ€
