Experience the full cycle from seed to harvest with easy crops like lettuce, radishes, or cherry tomatoes. Start small with a few varieties to avoid overwhelm, and keep a garden journal to track what works in your climate. Nothing beats the flavor of sun-warmed tomatoes or crisp lettuce picked minutes before eating.

โLettuce is super easy to grow from seed! I chose leaf vs. head varieties as they come to fruition more readily bc you can pick a few leaves & come back to the same plant days later to harvest again. I think I had about 18 plants & just picked a few leaves from each daily - we had the best salad for several weeks! [...] It was very apparent that these lettuces were not hardy enough to be grown & shipped for mass marketing. The varieties we can buy at the store pale in comparison to the lovely, tender, delicious varieties I grew from seed.โ
โThis year I redid everything and followed guidelines from Gardening for Dummies. I started everything from seed in February. If I had grow lights and did not initially overwater I think my tomatoes would be further along [...] but I am still incredibly pleased with their progress. One long bed dedicated to tomatoes and another dedicated to peppers. I may have way overdone it with the number of plants but I wasnโt sure if all of the tomatoes/peppers I started would thrive. Next year if I am overwhelmed with the harvest I will have more confidence in not having redundant plants. Worst case scenario is a have a massive surplus of canned tomatoes/peppers (god forbid!)โ
