Join thousands in St. Peter's Square to hear the Pope deliver his weekly address from the papal apartment window every Sunday at noon (when he's in residence). Wednesday general audiences offer a closer experience with formal speeches and blessings in the Paul VI Audience Hall. Arrive early for better spots, and bring something white to wave when greeting the Pontiff—it's a tradition that creates a sea of moving fabric.

Now, I’m not saying they should do it differently. This was just my own personal experience. In fact, one thing that struck me was how they go out of their way to make the event feel special for everyone. You can travel from anywhere in the world, see the Pope, get close to the Pope, have the Pope bless your baby, get your group mentioned publicly and hear the teaching in your own language. I do specifically remember hearing that the Pope was thinking of all of those who were too sick or unable to travel to see him.

It was worth it for me but I share because it's a very long day and you have to prove what you wear that day is what you wore to your wedding. We had to show photos and proof of the date. We got our tickets from the American office the day prior.

We did not need tickets to get seats. We got there around 8 AM and the line wasn’t very long. We couldn’t figure out where to pick up the tickets and the people working/volunteering were either not helpful, or could not speak English. There were tons of seats and no one was checking for tickets.
