β€œWe got to the trailhead a little before 6 and there were a decent number of cars already there. Definitely recommend getting there by 6:30 to guarantee a parking spot. This hike was BEAUTIFUL. If I were to do it again, I’d hike the first few 3-4 miles then turn back. Those first few miles of views were the most spectacular part of the hike. We pushed to the Grinnell Glacier Overlook and that was HARD. Steep incline the entire way up in direct sun. Some areas was much sketchier than expected. We were walking on narrow rock that was wet and covered in tiny stones. That was not fun but the view up top was unbelievable. Not sure I’d do it again but worth doing it at least once.”

β€œRight before we got to cracker lake we were informed there were two grizzly bears about 200 yards away feeding in the meadow above the lake. As we were viewing them someone behind us came up and told us there was a grizzly on the trail that we just missed. Definitely had bear spray on you and accessible on this hike. The water at the lake is incredible looking. As we were viewing the lake we saw a huge bull moose walk into the water and two bighorn sheep in the distance. The hike back was a little rough after the horses went through and did their thing but it was 100% worth it and one of the highlights for me.”

β€œI hiked about 15 miles a day and spent the evenings in viewing wildlife or hanging at the Many Glacier hotel. I had over 20 bear sightings in the week I was there including 4 grizzly bears. I also had a very close encounter with a bull moose (was hiking early am and had no clue it was feeding behind a bush 5 ft from me) and saw three other moose from a safer distance.”
