โ€œSo I am starting my journey to becoming an ICF certified life coach this weekend with my first in-person training. I have worked my butt off to get the money together that I need to get this training and I can hardly believe that I'm really finally doing it. I'm equal parts thrilled to be going and horrified that I've spent all this money I've been working so hard to earn. Yet, with any luck, it will open the doors to be able to earn the money back with less back--breaking work. The course I'm taking is coaching certification level 1 with the "certified life coach institute". I chose this program mostly because it was pretty much the only in-person training I could afford (and travel to), and I really felt I wanted a chance to connect with people face to face rather than doing webinars. The course is a three-day intensive starting Friday, so it's going to be several days packed with work, which is a bit intimating, but also great because it will be a real jump-start.โ€

โ€œI was a special education teacher for 21 years. I taught kids (k-12) with learning disabilities, behavior disorders and a lot of ADHD. I have masters degrees in special education and curriculum & instruction. I also have two kids (now young adults) with ADHD. And of course, I have my own late in life diagnosis. I spent as much of my workshop/ inservice/ extra training time as I could learning more about ADHD. So I did a year long life coach training program, quit my jobโ€ฆ. And now Iโ€™ve been an ADHD Coach since 2018!โ€
