Group classes are perfect for beginners — everyone's learning together and the energy is infectious. Salsa is great for social dancing, while tango teaches precision and connection. Most studios offer drop-in classes, so you can try different styles before committing to a series.

I'm 29 years old male who had never danced before and i started to learn Salsa 2 months ago [class once a week]. I'm considered to be the best lead student in the class. At least that's what all the followers keep telling me so my ego got a little bit high and i thought lets join the next social so i can impress everybody more :D I watched many Youtube videos trying to learn cool moves and all sort of crazy stuff then i went to the Social and i must admit i surely underestimated how hard learning\dancing Salsa can be. As soon as i was on the dance floor holding my partner i forgot every thing i googled and watched on Youtube and all what appeared in my mind were just the basics (Single turn, CBL, CBLT). I kept looking around me and the other guys were doing all of those crazy yet simple and smooth moves while i kept doing my basics. To tell you the truth i never expected that and i thought i was 100% ready. However, i still had fun even though i was (and still) a little bit disappointed in my self. At least i danced for real and without an instructor shouting the counts and telling me what to do next. And seeing all those cool moves around me made me more hyped for the future. Just the idea that someday i can be as good as those guys makes me going on.

Then in January of 2024 a few months after a tough breakup, I started taking Salsa classes at Salsa Salsa and my relationship to dancing went through another transformation. Suddenly it felt like I was back in the body of 14-year-old me, awkward and afraid of being seen. I was so worried about “getting it right,” that I forgot what I had come to the studio to do in the first place, dance! The moment I remembered that (and it took at least 6 months for me), my experience with Salsa went from - OMG I have to get better at this, to OMG I DON’T THINK I CAN LIVE WITHOUT THIS.
