Quilting combines math, art, and patience into beautiful functional pieces. Start with simple patterns like log cabin or nine-patch squares, and you'll be surprised how quickly your first quilt comes together. The meditative rhythm of stitching makes it perfect for winter evenings.

I've been sewing for a few years, and just recently started exploring quilting. Throughout this process with the first one, I learned so much about piecing and accuracy. Moving it through the machine was an experience - I was ready to quit! I read that rule #1 to quilting is "finish every quilt". I'm so glad I stuck with it. I have a ton of fabric and squares/shapes cut to move forward with the next quilt. Looking forward to perfecting this craft.

As a first time quilter, I got a kit because I was afraid of screwing up the cutting. Ironically, I received a kit where all the middle blocks were cut a little off. And it turned out ok! So yes, cutting precisely is important, but it seems like there can be some leeway.
