Paper mache
๐ Anywhere๐ Repeatable๐ค All ages
creativecrafts
Create sculptures, masks, or decorative objects using just newspaper strips and flour-water paste. It's incredibly cheap and forgiving - you can build up layers gradually and sand or paint the final result. Try making bowls by layering over a balloon, or create elaborate masks for parties and theater.

People who tried this
โFor my first project, I wanted to start out simple and make an egg, I used crumpled up newspaper for the base and the shape just didn't look right, so I went to the dollar store and bought a couple packs of ballons, instead of scrapping the original egg, I decided to re-recycle it into a face. The new egg I am basing off a Robins egg, the state bird of Wisconsin. Long story short, I am really enjoying myself and this hobby. I never would have thought paper mache would bring me this much joy.โ
