“As far as other lost balls are concerned, I did lose two more balls during the round, both ended up in water. One at the bottom of a small pond because I just didn't put enough umph behind my shot on a par 3 (honestly just a beginner mistake, I was deathly afraid of hitting past the green near tees for the next hole. The other was into a creek that was set about 10 feet down in a ravine from the fairway with stone walls on each side. Ultimately, 3 lost balls on 18 rounds was a great success. Although I did well with my driver, my short game needs a LOT of work. I can't chip worth a shit [...] As for my score? I cringe to post it, but I shot a 140, and that was just completely giving up on a couple of holes. HOWEVER, let me say that my buddy and I still finished in 3 hours and 57 minutes. We played ready golf and it works.”
“I played my first ever round of golf yesterday morning. crazy experience for me. I go to the course early in the morning, hoping that i won't be paired up with another group, meet my caddy, and i told him that this is my first time. he told me that i'm crazy enough to come alone for the first time. Along the way he's really helpful, he teach me lot of things, he told me what club to use and why use that, i don't feel nervous at all, and i learn lot of things from that. Sometimes if i hit some bad shot, he give me another ball and do it again (eventho some of them still result to a bad shot lol). sometimes we didn't. we did that like 2-4 times per hole. i'm not sure is this a thing or not? but somehow i shot 112 and i'm very surprised that i get 1 par. well, i don't really want count that 1 par as my achievement because i do 1 "retry shot" on that hole.”
“It was a shock when I though I signed up for a 9 hole league and I showed up for the first day to find out it was a full round of 18 holes. I wasn’t able to leave work as early as I thought I could so I rolled up just 15 minutes before our tee time. Not only was I going to play with complete strangers for the first time ever but I was also going to have to tee off with a crowd of about 20 guys that were all in the league as well without any time at the practice range #UnderPressure [...] They also were extremely patient with me as played some of the worst golf ever. This was easily the worst round in the past three years. It was a good experience to play a round of golf where every stroke was counted and you had to finish all of your putts outside of a foot were gimmes. It really gave me a true picture of where my golf game is currently at.”
