βI honestly don't know why I even bother to refinish furniture because stripping a piece of furniture, for me, is the worst job ever. Evvvverrrr. [...] Why that paint practically got up and walked away. Just kidding. I had to work like the devil. Lands sakes it was torture! Nobody ever shows pictures like this next one. Here's the ugly truth about refinishing furniture... [...] Yup, nasty stuff. Three hours later I had almost all the paint off the drawers and most off the dresser itself. [...] I'm so sore it may be another month before I get the rest of the paint off.β
βIβd heard a lot about Chalk Paint and seen tons of things on Pinterest related to painting old furniture with this βmiracleβ paint, so I decided it was time for me to take the plunge and try it out. To be honest, I was nervous. I guess the special brushes and the pricey-ness of the paint itself along with the whole wax thing made me feel a little intimidated. [...] DO NOT BUY LATEX GLOVES. Donβt even buy just regular rubber gloves. You need to buy the gloves that say they are made for working with strong chemicals. And even when I used those, eventually they would eat through after enough use. You may have to buy several pairs of gloves (2-3)β
βFirst I sanded everything down. If there is one lesson I learned through this whole process, it is to sand, sand, and then sand some more! [...] This was definitely not a beginner's project. Perhaps that is why it took me so long to finish - I am a novice when it comes to refinishing furniture. So I am proud of myself for pushing through and finally getting it done! [...] But I will not be attempting any more big furniture makeovers for a very long time!β
