People who tried this
βBelieve it or not this is my first time painting since I was a kid. I adopted a βform follows functionβ approach where the shape of the rock determines where my imagination goes. It really helped with eliminating the decision fatigue I usually have when starting creative projects and I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to get into a flow state.β
βRock paintingβ¦ I saw some of my friends doing it on social media and I thought to try it out. I reached out to my BuyNothing group on FB and found a starter set with simple paints, one brush, and 4 dark river rocks. I googled rock painting and found some fun images! I tried out a minion and a ladybug for my first two and then picked a chicken and a pennyfarthing to paint for my grandparents. I really liked painting the rocks! Because the surface is uneven and the pictures are often rudimentary, my simple skills were sufficient. All I needed were more rocksβ¦β
