Turn people-watching into an art form by settling into a busy cafe with a good vantage point and observing the human drama unfolding around you. Notice body language, overheard conversations, and the different rhythms people move to. Create backstories for interesting characters - it's like watching live television while enjoying good coffee.

βAnd finally, I got up so early that I arrived an hour before work began. I spent this hour in a Cafe. Alone. Having breakfast. I loved this hour. I sat there, as the only one not rushing in, getting their "strong capo", beeping their card against the reader and rushing out. I observed the grey and black dressed stream of people. I day dreamed.β
βFor an hour on Thursday I sat in a cafe and people watched. A couple noticed me and obviously thought I was acting weirdly β they seemed to have just come off a shift as I was sat in the sports park and they were surrounded by volley balls β but I just averted my gaze. I had my bag in front of my notebook, so it could have just looked like I was doing work (which, technically, I was). Donβt tell my teacher, but I was also checking my phone, so I wasnβt just staring at people and writing for an hour β that does look suspicious. A phone is easy to dip in and out of (I was actually messaging someone) so I find that it helps to keep me relaxed, and then that means other people around me are relaxed too.β
