Master this classic basketball trick that looks way cooler than it actually is to perform. Start by practicing the spinning motion with both hands, then gradually work up to balancing it on your fingertip - the key is keeping your finger directly under the ball's center of gravity.

โI have officially spent ten hours learning to spin a basketball on my finger. I have to say it felt very accomplishing. It took a lot of fifteen minute practice sessions twice a day for almost twenty days. Once I realize it was simply a procedural memory learned through practice I noticed that a little bit everyday would be most effective. [...] My index finger started to blister and rub raw. This is when I had to change my sessions to once in the morning and once at night. Separating the time between sessions would reduce the wear and tear on my index finger. In addition, my finger nail is lopsided as the friction from the ball essentially acted as a nail file on one side of my finger nail.โ
โI started last sunday, so 6 days ago I started, I can spin the ball on my finger even slap the ball now and cause it to spin longer, my longest is probably over 30 seconds, but my finger gets easily wobbly and the ball follows. I've seen people do it and the ball and their finger looks almost motionless, I wanna get that steady doing it but i havent seen a video explaining exactly that.โ
