βBefore I got my first proper adult-sized hula hoop, I tried toy shop hoops that never stayed up. That experience made me believe I just couldn't do it. Like if I was disabled for life: "UNABLE TO HULA HOOP". [...] once I got the right hoop, it stayed upβand it blew my mind how much easier everything became.β
βIt felt impossible for me to hoop at all when I first learned. But, like you, I practiced in my 'natural' direction and got pretty good at it. Then, I tried the opposite direction & it felt just like the beginning. So I practiced that side a lot and got good at that too! Each move you try will probably be just as hard at first but eventually you'll be spinning, lassoing, hip/thigh/knee hooping like a pro!β
