“I waited two years to start - because I love podcasts and wanted my first one to be great, high quality and impactful. What I wish I had done is just create a podcast right away, two years ago. About anything. There is a learning curve you can’t escape. This sucks and it’s okay to sit with that feeling for a minute and say “man, I don’t like that!” And then decide to proceed anyway because you still want what is on the other side. Honor the feeling because it feels kind of gross. Then pick yourself up and press on. In the end, I am not yet making my high quality and high quality podcast. But I am publishing weekly and learning and I’m DOING IT. And it feels better to be in the pool than waiting on the diving board.”
“I’ll be honest - I do not love being in huge groups or speaking to large groups of people. At the same time, I’ve been on a journey over the last several years of finding my voice and using it boldly. With podcasting, I get to use my actual voice, and I can speak to the masses, but it still feels intimate, like I’m talking to one single person. This is my style. Have you ever had that feeling when something quickens your insides? Like…it’s kinda scary but also completely invigorating and fulfilling at the same time? That’s how I feel about doing this! [...] As far as the technical stuff, I don’t really know what I’m doing! But I’m learning along the way. [...] I may not be an expert at all, but the point is, I’M DOING IT, and I’m bringing you along with me.”
“As an avid podcast listener, I started thinking: “Why can’t I start my own thing?”. I’d like to say that I had a noble reason for starting a podcast. Truthfully, though, I just wanted to see if I could do it…and I did. With only four episodes out, I wouldn’t consider myself an expert, but I hope talking about my own experiences can show people that you don’t have to create something groundbreaking to have a lot of fun and learn a lot!”
