βIβm only three months into blogging and already it has been an enormous learning curve. Huge! [...] As a newbie to the blogging world, itβs a bit like visiting a new country. Youβre not fluent in the language, all these terms are cropping up and youβre wondering what the heck they mean. Youβre not sure what the customs are either β if somebody comments on you blog do you return the favour? I spent most of my first month trying to figure out blogging etiquette and avoid accidentally pissing anyone off.β
βTwenty years ago today, I clicked a button on Blogspot.com and started a free blog account and tapped out my first blog post. Without much thought, I named it Musings of a Housewife because I was, well, a housewifeβand I was simply planning to record my random thoughts and everyday life. There was no featured image, no structure, no SEOβ¦ just a few paragraphs on a blank computer screen.β
βWhen I first started Oh Happy Hotalings, I honestly had no schedule. I put up a post when I felt like it, not knowing from one day to the next what I was going to be writing, or when I was going to be putting up another post and I got burnt out so stinking fast it's embarrassing.β
