Use a sterile blade to gently scrape away dead skin cells and peach fuzz from your face. This professional treatment leaves skin incredibly smooth and helps skincare products absorb better, though you'll need to find a licensed aesthetician trained in the technique.

βI lay down on the estheticianβs reclined chair, ready for my first time getting my face shaved. She began the treatment by removing my makeup, then got to work with a fine razor blade, shaving my face, taking particular care around my under-eyes, nose, and mouth. She carefully went around my eyebrows and chin as well. The actual procedure did not hurt (the blade is not supposed to break the skin), and all I felt was some gentle tugging. [...] While sitting extremely still isnβt the easiest thing, I found it oddly calming. I felt confident in the expert wielding the blade and knew that I would not have as steady a hand had I tried this at home. Post-appointment, my skin felt softer than ever, my makeup went on without a single cake-y or pilling moment, and my skincare seemed more potent than everβ
βAs with lots of aesthetic procedures, the dermaplaning treatment started with a cleanser and toner being applied to my skin to make sure it was clean, dry and de-greased (this is pretty essential for an oily skin type like me!). Then, starting at my forehead, Melody began scraping the dermaplaning razor over my skin in short, light movements, with minimal pressure. Then, after working her way down my face - even onto the neck - the treatment was done. And, in case youβre wondering, the treatment was completely painless. Yes, I could feel the blade as it moved over my skin but, if anything, it was relaxing (I could have easily fallen asleep!). It took about 20 minutes in total - so itβs the perfect speedy treatment for instant brightening.β
