This rich, Persian-influenced curry with potatoes and tender meat is Thailand's most complex dish, balancing sweet, salty, and warm spices. Order it at a traditional Thai restaurant where they simmer it slowly for hours to achieve the perfect depth of flavor.

People who tried this

In middle school back in my home town of Saraburi, Thailand. I used to walk to the market with my friends to buy food during our lunch break. Walking there itself was an adventure; we would see so many people, a variety of fresh food, BBQ smokes everywhere, and students from different schools coming out for lunch. This dish is spicy even for most adult’s standard back then, and my friend and I often do silly dare games, and that day was no exception. So we ordered this curry, not knowing what it was just because we saw tons of chilies floating on the surface, so we might as well try it and see who can eat more (plus we saw a lot of older boys made an order, and we wanted to be as cool as them) I remembered when I took the first bite, the beef was so tender, and it melted in my mouth; the roasted peanut that gave you this satisfying crunchie each time you bite down. The potatoes were divine, soft, and tasty since they soaked with curry sauce for hours.
