β€œBut today I learned that trails are a whole different ball game. This was a pretty smooth, flat rails-to-trails conversion, so I can't blame the trail. It was lovely. Small gaps between the large pavers made it really easy to just cruise on over, maybe stagger for the big ones. And the views were fantastic. I fell forward a few times at first, but I was feeling pretty good -- albeit very tired from bubbling every time I felt too unsteady (which was often), the sheer concentration I was having to do, and the stomach cramps I was having this morning.”

β€œWhen I first got back into skating I put my C7s on and hit the trails thinking it would be something to easily pick back up. After the first decline and nearly dying on the divider cracks I took of my skates off and walked back to my car. I have upgraded my skates since then and have been going to rinks and skate parks weekly so I figured I'd give it another try. It was 105Β°F but I finally had the free time to check out the trail again. I only did 2 miles, but that's about 1.95 more miles than I had originally done. But wow I'm either really out of shape or trail skating takes a lot of effort. Or maybe both. I was absolutely tired after only 2 miles.”

β€œi’m really used to smooth or waffle hockey rinks but today, i went trail skating for the first time. it wasn’t the worst terrain, it was basically like a road that you drive on, but i don’t know what it was, the hills, the vibration, the cracks in the pavement, taking a week and a half off by accident. i was scared the entire time. i think i did relatively well for someone who has only been skating a couple times a week for the last month and a half but i get frustrated with myself so easily.”
