“Finally, we arrived–the main concourse. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. My eyes transfixed on the amount of green and gold held before me. Eight years later, and I still cannot describe the indescribable. Again, I felt like Dante. My ever-moving mouth was silenced with a gaze at the vastness of the space and depth of detail in the constellations on the ceiling. My ex boyfriend gently pulled my arm to urge me to walk, so we wouldn’t get stampeded by groups of tourists. But I was so enraptured by this sight that I paid him no attention.”

“I intrepidly stepped through the arch of track 25, not sure if I was allowed there without a ticket. No one seemed to notice. The tracks were darker, the walls covered in a build up of grime and pollution, but yet that gave it another appeal to me. It's funny how New York dirt adds to the character of the place, but in the UK it's just grime! [...] A few seconds later I was walking against a stream of commuters rushing to catch their trains. Walking against the tide of people I shot from the hip.”
